Laundry Room Love: Because You Deserve Better Than That Pile
Laundry has a way of multiplying overnight. Just when you think you're caught up, the hamper’s full again. Whether you’re doing laundry for one or six, the laundry room shouldn’t feel like a dungeon of doom. But for many of us, it’s a space we avoid—because it’s cluttered, cramped, or just plain chaotic.
Here’s the truth: even the most mundane chore feels lighter when the space works for you.
In this blog, I’m showing you how an efficient, organized laundry room can save time, reduce stress, and actually make laundry feel (almost) manageable.
Create clear zones
Sort, wash, fold, store—your laundry space should have distinct zones for each task. If space is tight, even a simple folding tray or shelf can create much-needed order. Let’s ditch the laundry chair and bring in systems that help you get it done without the pile-up.
Rethink your supplies
Do you need 4 kinds of stain remover? Probably not. Keep only what you actually use and store it within arm’s reach. Decanting detergent into pretty jars? Totally optional. Organized = functional, not just aesthetic.
Add vertical storage
Use your walls! Floating shelves, wall hooks, or pegboards can hold everything from hangers to lint rollers. Bonus points for a drying rack that folds up and out of the way.
Design for multitasking
The laundry room doesn’t have to be just for laundry. With the right setup, it can also house pet supplies, cleaning tools, or even act as a mini mudroom. Multi-functional = maximum value.
Keep it maintainable
A tidy laundry area isn’t just a one-time thing—it’s a routine. Weekly wipe-downs, quarterly supply audits, and seasonal refreshes keep the space running smoothly without a major overhaul.
Laundry might never be your favorite task, but your laundry room can absolutely become one of your favorite spaces. Let’s create a space that keeps you calm—even when the spin cycle’s running.
